Welcome

On a dark, clear summer sky, there is nothing like bringing out the telescope and examining the heavens unfasten their brilliance. Yet at first, the task seems daunting. How can you read the night sky? How is one to read the star atlas? Where is Polaris?

Before we turn out the lights, we should go over a few basics about the planet we make our observations from to have a better understanding of what is out above our heads.
